2007 Keefer Ranch Pinot Noir

  • 60% Swan; brix @ harvest - 27, pH @ harvest - 3.38
  • 40% Pommard 5; brix @ harvest - 25.4, pH @ harvest - 3.41
  • 20% whole cluster
  • 25% New French Oak using Cadus and Remond Allier MT
  • Native yeast fermentation
  • Native malo-lactic fermentation
  • alcohol - 14.2%
  • pH - 3.45
  • TA - 0.881
The growing season for 2007 found us with frosts in the spring and a cool summer. The first two weeks of harvest were hot followed by a significant cool down. The Swan was picked on Sept 2 and the Pommard 5 on Sept 17. The darker color reflects the warmer harvest and the Pommard adds a nice spice to the red fruit flavors of the Swan.

Showing signature Keefer aromatics of dried cherry, cranberry and light florals. On the palate, this medium-bodied Pinot has supple tannins and a firm, natural acidity.
